Graduation dreaming with Fanny Crown

With my my graduation coming up in November its always been obvious to me that i want to look my best and that i find the dream dress for it. I think with graduation some people get it so wrong in the dress departments with the colours, lengths and the styles of their dresses. For me i want something that looks classy, elegant and nothing too flashy. Black or grey has always been the colour choice in my eyes for an appropriate graduation dress as i need to bare in mind how it will look with the robes, the last thing i want is the colours to clash! I also want it to be a cocktail length of dress, as again anything long length would just seem to blend in with the length of the robes. I was introduced to Fanny Crown last week who specifically sell evening wear which was a blessing in disguise. I was only saying to my friend last week that during the summer months i find it so hard to find evening/party clothes because there really is no shop that just specialises in that.

The dresses on Fanny Crown are so spectacular and whatever event you are anticipating going to there is a dress to suit everyones style and taste. Without further ado there was even a section especially dedicated to graduation dresses meaning the online experience with Fanny Crown was enjoyable as it was really easy to navigate around and find what i was looking for quickly. I collated some of my favourite dresses for the event which you can see above, but I quickly found 'the one' which i have featured below and showing how i would style it on the day!

I absolutely love the simplicity and elegance of this dress, black definitely doesn't need to be boring and the ruffles add gorgeous texture and shape to the dress,it is cinched in at the waist which is the most flattering part of the body which as you can see on the model gives her such a lovely shape. With online shopping i do however worry about the item fitting and having to bother with returns but the fact that Fanny Crown tailor make it to your own measurements makes it an extra special service, meaning that the dress is completely unique and bespoke to you! I have never had a dress made to measure but i can see the massive advantages to it because nowadays sizing in shops vastly differs so its impossible for things to always fit you correctly, it would certainly be a dream to have a dress made to measure and that fits like a glove for my graduation!

As for accessories i wanted to pick a colour that wasn't black or white and something that would really add a pop of colour to the outfit. Obviously it had to be hot pink! Definitely one of my favourite colours, i matched the pinks as well as i could and i absolutely love the clutch bag because of the black trim on the outside making it the perfect bag for the dress. I also love sandal heels like this as again they are really elegant but not too over the top, walking in heels for me is a nightmare as it is so i need to be sure i'm going to be able to walk in them during the ceremony, i really do not fancy tripping over in front of everyone haha.

This is an entry to a style competition with Fanny Crown and any other blogger can also enter. Good luck! Fanny Crown have also kindly offered me a 15% discount for all of my readers, just enter this code at the checkout: SLEEKCHIC14

What do you think of this dress? Have you got a graduation coming up? What will you wear or what did you wear to yours? Have you heard of Fanny Crown before?

3 ways to wear a bralet!

I finally caved and bought my myself a bralet in Topshop last week, i admittedly didn't know whether it would suit me and what i would wear it with before but i'm so taken with it and you really can style it lots of different ways so i thought i would put together a 3 ways to wear post. I haven't done one of these for so long but i know others do and i also enjoy reading them and i also did a 3 ways to wear a shirt last year, which you can read here. I personally think that with a bralet you need to be wearing high waisted clothing with them because it makes showing off that extra bit of skin more flattering than also getting your stomach out on show too. High waisted clothes are really flattering too and i own so many of them so i wasn't hard to find items to style with the bralet.
All 3 looks: Bralet - Topshop /Sandals - Topshop / Necklace - Primark / Clutch - Primark
Look 1 : Shorts - Topshop
Look 2 : Joni jeans - Topshop
Look 3 : Skirt - Hollister

I'm definitely a bralet convert and i cant wait to buy another one, i'll probably be slightly more adventurous with a pattern next time,Missguided have some gorgeous ones this season! I love each of these pastel looks but my favourite is number 2 with the high waisted joni jeans, the colours in the jeans mimic the bralet colour perfectly and it just looks amazing together. Such a simple look to put together and endless opportunities to how you style it!

Whats your favourite of the 3 looks? Do you like bralets? What would you wear with one? Would you style it differently?

OOTD | Rule1store dress

Dress* - Rule1store
Clutch bag* - Jones Bootmaker

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and enjoying the glorious sunshine, its finally meant that I've been able to wear some of my new summer clothes that i thought i would only be able to wear on holiday, this beauty of a dress being one of them! Last week Rule1store sent me over this glamorous coffee coloured dress. This is the most perfect look for work and for a smart occasion or night out. Its so sophisticated and i love the detachable necklace as it means you can wear it bare, with this necklace or use your own ones, making it totally versatile. This dress is going to get so much wear this summer and with the job hunting in full swing now i'll definitely be looking very stylish when i land myself my first grown up girl job!

When the Jones Bootmaker clutch bag arrived in the post the same day i had no idea that it would be the perfect colour match for the dress,i don't think i could have picked something more appropriate if i tried! I love the option to be able to use it the bag as a clutch and also to wear on my shoulder, there is nothing more annoying on a night out than balancing drinks and a bag and trying to dance at the same time haha!

What do you think of this outfit? have you shopped with Rule1store before? What outfits are your go to looks for work?

*Products marked with an asterix (*) have been sent to me for review. However, all opinions in this post are 100% my own

OOTD | Grazia topshop voucher purchases

Top - Topshop
Bottoms - Topshop
Shoes - Lipsy
Necklace - Primark
Bag - Topshop

As you may know from the 3rd-17th June Grazia magazine have been offering Topshop vouchers inside the magazine ranging from £5-£250. For some reason i never found out about this until last week and as soon i heard about it i had to head to town to start hunting down all of the newsagents/supermarkets! Because i had left it so late the majority of magazines had already been sold, someone had taken the vouchers out (really unfair) or there were only £5 ones left which really isn't worth it as in order to redeem them you have to spend at least £20 on top, so unless you want something from there anyway its not really worth it unless its a £20 voucher or more. So anyway i walked miles and searched about 12 shops until i reached my final one and so unexpectedly i found the last Grazia magazine on the shelf with a £50 voucher inside, i felt like Charlie in Charlie and the chocolate factory and quickly bought it before anyone could take it from me. As you know i'm a massive Topshop fan so i was beyond happy!

As you can guess these are my purchases with the topshop voucher! I had been after jersey style slouchy trousers for some time as they are the epitomy of comfort but are still stylish. Believe me they are the comfiest trousers i have ever owned and will be perfect for travelling in, i absolutely love the monochrome pattern too. I love the little crop top i picked up too which they also had in some other pretty pastel colours, its the perfect top to throw on, especially on holiday as its easy to wear with anything. I definitely didn't need another bag but when it was technically free how could i say no?! Its the perfect size for going on holiday with, as i always struggle to find something small but big enough to carry round water and a camera etc. The boho style is really cute and would be the perfect accompaniment at a festival!

What do you think of my buys? Have you found a Topshop Grazia voucher? There is still a few days left of it running so its still worth looking out for one,let me know if you're successful!
