December Degustabox Review & discount code!

In case you didn't know its only two more sleeps to go until the big day!! To get you in the festive spirit I'm sharing with you the December Degustabox* filled with lots of yummy festive food. I've reviewed a good few boxes of these now but if you're not familiar with them, the Degustabox is a monthly food subscription box priced at £12.99 which always includes 9 to 14 surprise good products, a lot of which are new to the market. This months was a good'un!
I loved the festive theme of this box..
 Popchips £1.79
I have seen so many people rave about how nice pop chips are and I can definitely vouch for it that these do taste amazing! These are baked as opposed to fried which makes them a lot healthier than standard crisps. There is less than 100 calories in each serving too, the barbecue flavour is fairly strong without leaving a taste in your mouth, definitely going to try out the other flavours in the new year!
 Pukka herbs £2.39
I have been wanting to try out green tea forever now as I know they are so good for you and can help aid a detox. They contain a blend of Sicillian lemons and the freshness of dandelion roots, my new years resolution is definitely to drink healthy teas so these will come in very handy!
 Eisburg alcohol free wine £3.49
Never have I ever come across alcohol free wine! This was a perfect addition to the box for me seeing as I can't drink. I never liked the taste of wine anyway but will enjoy testing this out over Christmas, not too sure what it will taste like though.. It's a perfect alternative for anyone else who cant drink or is thinking of giving up alcohol in the new year.
 Gloworm £1.50 each
These cute cans can be used alone but are designed specifically for mixers each for a specific spirit drink. They are sugar free but I could definitely taste the sweeteners that were put into these. I tried it by itself but can definitely see that they would be better with an alcoholic beverage as it states.
 Bahlsen biscuits £3.58
Bahlsen has become my new favourite biscuit brand since I discovered it in the Degustabox. These biscuits are well known anyway in my household as they are soo good, I've never tried the caramel ones before but can imagine they are equally as delicious. Plenty of these will be eaten throughout the Christmas period!
 Kent's Kitchen £2.50
This kit was also feautred in the Degustabox previously. The set contains 3 pots which you simply add to whatever food you're cooking to help create an authentic and good quality meal. It's not really anything I would use with food myself as I have to eat so simply but it's a great idea for people on the go who don't have much time to cook.
 Frylight Infuse Garlic £2.00
I swear by the fry light in the original flavour as it's soo easy to use when cooking with food and no issues about pouring in too much oil to your cooking. I didn't even know they did a different flavour, I would definitely be testing this out with omelettes and other meals in the future, it also suggests trying it out whilst making garlic bread which I think would taste great. The spray really is soo easy to use and they last for ages,
 The Chia Co £1.70
Chia seeds are so well known for being a super food. This little sachet of oats and chia just needs water adding to it to deliver a a smooth and creamy texture like porridge but without the dairy products. These definitely offer a much healthier alternative for taking on holidays than the golden oats and porridge pots you see in the shops, as they are full of sugar. The sachet alone with the chia seeds offers omega 3, fibre, protein as well as being packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
 Bonne Maman Marmalade £2.30
Bonne Maman is such a well known brand but it is slightly on the expensive side as far as jams go so it was really nice to receive this in the box. I love the traditional packaging of the jar too. After watching Paddington bear at the cinema I wouldn't be surprised if marmalade sales went through the roof, I'm expecting this one to be delicious for the price!
It was another great box from Degustabox this month with lots of goodies to help us through the festive period and some healthier options which I will definitely be in need of in January! I don't know about everyone else but I cant wait to indulge in some yummy Christmas food now!

Degustabox have also kindly offered all of my readers a £3.00 discount, just enter the code: WTG3F when registering!

November Degustabox Review & Discount code!

December-Degustabox
It's officially December and the countdown to Christmas can finally begin! A few days ago the Winter November Degustabox £12.99* landed on my door step, if you're a regular reader then you'll be accustomed with my monthly posts about the gorgeous surprise goodies that I receive. Anyway, for those who don't know what I'm taking about Degustabox is a monthly food subscription box which contains 9-14 surprise food products, most which are completely new to the food market. I can definitely vouch for this as whilst I have been receiving these boxes for a few months I have discovered some amazing brands which I keep repurchasing. The products inside add up to a lot more than the small cost of £12.99 for the box and it's always a delight to open it up and look inside...
pip-organic
Pip organic Cloudy apple juice £1.50 per bottle
You can't go wrong with some organic fruit juices, apple is definitely my favourite of the bunch. These are made with 100% organic fruit and you can really tell with the quality of the drink, it's incredibly fruity and has a real intense flavour of apple, what a real apple juice should be! The size of these is really convenient to take out when you're on the go.
holy-cow-curry-sauce
Holy Cow curry sauce £1.69 per pouch
These are premade sauces ready to add to meals to create authentic Indian dishes. These came in two different flavours as you can see, I'm not a curry/Indian cuisine person at all so I won't be using these but curries are a popular and easy dish to make so I'm probably one of the minority here. They are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians too which makes it available to a much wider market of foodies.
cool-dawn-recovery-drinks
Cool dawn recovery drinks £1.49 per drink
This is a detox drink which states to help prevent and cure hangovers. I could have sure done with something this cute when I used to drink, it would have saved me a lot of days spent in bed dying! This one has a combination of citrus and liquorice flavours which seems like a really odd flavour combination but I'm guessing it works?! They recommend to have a full one cold and shaken towards the end of the night and another in the morning if still needed. I would love to know if this actually works, has anyone else tried one of these?
Branston-chutney
Branston chutney £1.50
Branston is a brand which has been around for years. This is one of their new flavours which is the Mediterranean tomato chutney, it sounds so delicious combining flavours of caramelised onions and the Mediterranean tomato. Definitely a staple item for Christmas buffets and foods, it's especially delicious on some cheese and crackers mm. They even included a little menu card which shows a recipe to make Mediterranean tomato chutney and cheese sausage rolls which literally sound amazing!! Such a perfect food for a buffet, I think I'm going to beg my mum into making these!
Kents-Kitchen-flavour-shots
Kent's kitchen flavour shots £1.85
Kents Kitchen was also featured in the October Degustabox, this flavour shot is a quick and easy way to jazz up plain meats without any effort needed. They are gel shots which coat any type of food you want to cook with, these would be fab for chicken strips and then used in wraps for fajitas. A really great thing to use when you're busy or have friends over for food.
Drink-me-chai
Drink me chai
This was an extra sample present in the box this month. I have heard a lot about chai drinks in the past but have never personally tried one, I wasn't even completely sure what it was! I now know that it is a blend of exotic spices, milk and sweetened tea. All you need to do is add the powder to water or milk for a instant drink. I love the ease of this product already and the fact that its only 90 calories per cup makes it a perfect excuse to have an extra biscuit or two...
Kettle-chips
Kettle chips £2.19
I am a big fan of kettle chips and we almost always have these for Christmas. This is one of their new flavours which tastes very similar to the Walkers ketchup crisps, do they even still do them?! I love the taste though, it combines tomatoes, chillies and peppers which gives them a smell and slightly a taste of smoky bacon crisps. They have also released another new flavour which I am definitely going to try which is Stilton and port, definitely a flavour for Christmas!
Montano-cider
Montano cider £2.79
I thought this was a very generous sized bottle of cider in the box, but it's not just any cider..It's Italian crafted cider which is made from apples grown in the foothills of the Trentino region in Northern Italy. I don't drink alcohol but my dad will happily be able to take this off my hands!
Lindor-my-melting-moment
Lindor my melting moment £0.65 per pack
I had to save the best to last! Any form of chocolate will make me very happy and Lindt chocolate, lindors in particular are my favourite brand of chocolate. The taste is just amazing and I love the soft filling of these. I think these are reasonably priced individually and will make great extras as stocking fillers.
December-Degustabox
I loved the Christmas theme to this months box and as I have always said from my first box the Degustabox really would make such a lovely present for a friend, relative or loved one, for only £12.99 its an affordable gift and I'm sure any foodie would love to open this up on Christmas day!
December-Degustabox
Overall, I wouldn't say this was my favourite box, personally for me it was too many drinks and sauce products and really only two products that you could eat. I know a lot of people prefer lots of drinks though and Degustabox definitely can't always please everyone. It was still a great box though and I have definitely made use of the food, drinks and sauces as always and loved discovering the new brands. I am already looking forward to opening next months!

Degustabox have also kindly offered all of my readers a £3.00 discount off their first order, just enter the code: 54N20 when registering!

What do you think of this months box? Would you consider subscribing to Degustabox? Which products would you like to try?

October Degustabox review

It's that time of the month again when I get to share with you the October Degustabox*! If anything can cheer me up half way through the week, its food! For those of you who aren't familiar with Degustabox it is a monthly food box which contains 9-14 surprise products, and generously priced at only £12.99 makes it a bargain not to be missed!
Let's have a look at what goodies I received this month...
Blue dragon sweet chilli sauce - £1.39 for two
I'm personally not a fan of sweet chilli sauce but my dad loves it so it's definitely going to go to good use. He particularly likes having it with fish but I can imagine it would make anything more flavoursome and tasty!
Kents Kitchen - £2.50
This product is such a great concept and it is a three step kit which will provide you with an easy, authentic and tasty meal within 20 minutes. All you need to do is add the three pots to some fresh ingredients and you will create a restaurant quality meal. Again, I would have loved to have discovered a product like this at university, but this will help ease me back into cooking by myself again. It's a great thing to pick up and use when time isn't on your side too whilst still creating a healthy meal for yourself.
Special K cracker crisps - £1.89
I have been wanting to try these since they were released earlier this year. As a big fan of Special K I was expecting good things, I also naively thought they would be like the cereal...(they aren't). They are so tasty and they make such a great and healthy, low fat snack, they aren't quite crisps but I would say they are in between the size of that and snack a jacks. They come in a few different flavours so I am definitely going to try the sea salt and balsamic vinegar ones out next. I think they are also really reasonably priced for such a big bag too.
Solo marshmallow creme - £1.99
This months Degustabox has a joint offer on for all Degustabox users with American Soda which has a huge range of all types of American food! I could seriously spend all day browsing through their website. This delicious looking marshmallow creme being one of their products. I think it will be so perfect as s'mores sandwiched between digestive biscuits and chocolate mm, less messier than using melted marshmallows too. I'm particularly looking forward to testing it out in some baking, it could be a delicious addition to cakes and biscuits! I was also surprised how cheap this pot was as the American shop I have in my town charge ridiculous prices for imported items.
Alpha bites - £2.69 for the full size
Aww I just adore this little box, if anything I'm already in love with the product. I am yet to try these but I'm looking forward to testing these out as a little snack. They look like they might taste quite plain but nevertheless they look very cute and I wont judge them on their appearance!
Get buzzing flapjack - £1.30
I do love a good flapjack! They aren't known for being the healthiest snacks but this one is targeted at providing a good release of energy. It is full of 100% natural ingredients and this one in particular had nuts and cranberries in it. I found that it was really tasty but maybe a bit too sweet, but as it states I can see why it is perfect for providing energy to the body for slow release throughout the day.
Bioche Pasquier pain au lait with choc chips - £1.60
Brioche Pasquier sliced brioche loaf - £1.69
I previously reviewed some Brioche Pasquier products in the August Degustabox which were delicious so I knew these would be no different. The chocolate chip pain au laits are heavenly, I'm already swiftly working my way through the bag, they make such a nice snack or a treat for breakfast. The sliced brioche loaf again makes such a nice change from standard bread, it has a slightly sweeter taste to it and it's perfect with all types of jams.
Jelly belly beans - £2.50
So we all know what Jelly Belly is! The boxes usually contain chocolate of some kind so it was nice to spot these in the box. I love jelly beans, maybe not all the flavours but it's a fun sweet trying to guess which flavour you're having!
Dr Oetker extra dark chocolate - £2.49
Dr Oetker fine dark cocoa powder - £1.89
These could not have come at a better time, I seem to be slacking in the cake baking department lately so I will be putting these two to very good use this weekend, there may even be my first recipe on the blog if anyone is interested in that? Dark chocolate also happens to be my favourite, it's technically good for you too, right?
Enhance drinks - £2.49
Again, I have seen this type of product popping up in the shops in the last year but have yet to test it out. I think it is such a great product for adding to your water, it is perfect for taking with you on days out and on holidays. You only need one squeeze of this into water which transforms it into a tasty drink. Enhance drinks come in 4 different tasty flavours too.
Bear paws - £0.55
Firstly, I absolutely love the packaging of this fruit snack pack, pink wins me over every time! You get five paw prints inside which contain no added sugar, they are the closest you will get to sweets but being healthy at the same time. They are the perfect size for lunchboxes too and definitely not just for children!
Benecol Greek Style - £2.40
This month they included the Degustabox fridge again which offers a voucher for a free full price chiller cabinet product. I had been unable to buy the last one they had as my store did not stock the item so I was thrilled that I was able to pick these up! I eat greek yoghurt most days anyway because it's such a good probiotic for my stomach. These ones in particular have a unique cholesterol lowering ingredient in them. The pack comes in 4 different flavours including raspberry, strawberry, apricot and cherry.
This months recipe card is one of my favourites too. I'm definitely going to attempt a go at making the easy chocolate creme mousse, I can't guarantee mine will look as good though...
Okay, so I know I say this every month but this really is my favourite box that I have reviewed so far! Degustabox just seem to out do themselves each month. The October box has every different type of food product that I could want, from the sweet to the savoury. With Christmas coming up too now I think it would make the perfect surprise gift for someone in your life, and for only £12.99 you really can't go wrong!

If you want to see my previous reviews on their boxes just use the search box and enter Degustabox on the right hand side of my blog! You can also follow Degustabox on Facebook and Twitter for more information on their boxes.

They have also kindly offered all of my readers a £3.00 discount, just enter this code when registering: J2WIL

What do you think of this months box? Have you tried a Degustabox before? Would you like to receive a box like this each month?

September Degustabox review + Discount code!

September-Degustabox
Firstly I would just like to say ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!! Unfortunately I still have to go to work but I'm on back shifts this week so I still have a lovely morning ahead of me and a birthday weekend planned. I will be doing a huge post on what I get up to next week! Anyway enough about my birthday it's that time of the month again when the monthly food subscription box Degustabox* arrives, aka my favourite time of the month! At only £12.99 per month I think its such a great price for a lovely surprise box of goodies each month, what's not to love?!
September-Degustabox
Each box contains 9-14 surprise food products. Opening the box is always my favourite part, on to what lovely treats I got this month...
Burts Lentil Waves - RRP £0.69 each
I love the original Burts crisps so I knew these would follow suit. These really do not taste like your average crisps which I guess is why they are only 99 calories but they taste so much better than ordinary crisps, the flavours are really strong too but if you're not fond off strong tastes the lightly salted are a perfect alternative!
Bahlsen Pick up! - RRP £1.69 per pack
These are the most delicious biscuits that I have ever eaten, seriously!!The milk chocolate ones are not too dissimilar from BN biscuits but they are way better, the chocolate inside is delicious. The white chocolate ones are new and are probably slightly sweeter, they are perfect snack sizes for lunch boxes too. Always on the look out for new exciting products for my lunches!
Jordans simply granola - RRP £2.69
I developed a big obsession with granola in Finland and it's just the nicest type of cereal to have. Jordans offers crunchy baked oats with a hint of honey so it's really not that sweet, I love mixing it in with natural yoghurt too as it gives it a bit of natural sweetness without it being too bad for you.
Righteous salad dressings - RRP £2.19 for 3
I am yet to try these as I don't really eat salads. But I can imagine that these salad dressings would make any salad really tasty as they are full of 100% natural ingredients.
Elizabeth Shaw Dark Chocolate mint thins - RRP £2.50
The chocolate offerings in the box are my favourite every month and if you love after eight mints and matchmakers then you will love these. I would say these are a slightly upper class version of the both of them and they are so moreish! They are also really thin so its a good excuse to have more than one...
La Vieja Fabrica Marmalade jam - RRP £1.59
This jam is all the way from Seville who are most famous for their fantastic Seville oranges. This marmalade has a lovely sharp, orange taste and is a perfect summery flavour which I love on some toast!
Little Miracles - RRP £1.59 per bottle
This is the product of the month and I can see why as these drinks are delicious!! It was my first time to have them but I have heard so many things about them recently. They are blended with organic tea and fruit juice with ginseng and acai making it a perfect pick up drink whilst being healthy too. They are available at most convenience shops so its definitely going to be a drink I turn to when I'm out and about!
Carnation cook with it! - RRP £1.65 per unit
I've also not used these before but I have used a lot of other products from their range. These are a cooking creme which are a great addition to certain creamy dishes such as quiches and soups. They also have half the fat of single cream and they are so quick and easy to use with your cooking.
Crabbies alcoholic fruits - £1.50
Crabbies alcohol free - £1.20
Ginger beer is my ultimate favourite drink!! The non alcoholic option is infused with lemon, it tastes like lemonade but has the distinct taste of ginger which is just so good, i love the packaging as well, its looks really fancy! My dad tried the alcoholic fruits and said that it was just as nice, it basically tastes like a soft drink which makes it so good and for me it seems like a much better option than fruit ciders. They come in three different flavours to choose from too.
September-Degustabox
September-Degustabox
The info cards, recipes and vouchers are so useful for the box as it really helps to find out more about the products and where to purchase them, as all of the items in the box are always new products to the market. I will without a doubt be using the vouchers as the Bahlsen biscuits were just too good!!
September-Degustabox
Out of the three boxes I have reviewed this was by far my favourite box, probably because I loved almost everything! The biscuits, chocolate and drinks were my favourite and I'm praying that my local stores stock the Bahlsen biscuits as they actually complete my life! I have said it before but I just love the concept of this box with getting surprise food products to your door each month, there is also no contract with Degustabox so you can try it out for just one month if you so wish. With Christmas coming up I think it would make the perfect and different present for someone!

If you need anymore convincing as to why you need a food box in your life I also reviewed the July and August Degustabox! You can find Degustabox on Facebook and Twitter too! They have also kindly offered all of my readers a £3.00 discount when registering ,just enter this code: 4784593

Have you had a Degustabox before? Would you consider subscribing to this food box? Which products would be your favourite?
