OOTD | Casual Glamour With Mococo

I've never been a massive fan of jewellery as I much prefer my outfit to be accessorised with the likes of shoes and handbags. But as I've grown older I have grown to love, and expand my watch collection and ring department. I spent so many years buying cheap packs of rings and midi rings, but it's always the same story that they never fit properly, end up breaking or they'll just get lost. I think when it comes to rings and watches you definitely do need to invest, they are simple yet timeless pieces and the first things that people always notice on your hands. I stumbled across Mococo a few weeks ago who have such an extensive collection of jewllery from some well known brands, including my favourites Pandora and Olivia Burton. I have always wanted a Pandora ring for their simplicity and pretty designs, they really are all so princess like! So a few weeks ago when this little bit of loveliness dropped through my door I couldn't wait to have a peep inside and see what beauty awaited me...
The package from Mococo was SO beautifully wrapped, and personally a much better service than you would receive in a busy Pandora shop, I swear that shop always has a queue outside the door on a weekend?! The ring was wrapped in gorgeous heart embossed paper which was on the theme of Valentines Day, and which came with a Pandora bag too and a tag to write a special message on, but if you're anything like me, more times than any the treat is actually for myself...
Pandora Petals Of Love Ring* - Mococo
In a quick scramble of wrapping paper and ribbons, the box had been unhinged and this beauty was looking up at me! Mococo have such a great selection of Pandora rings online, and this one instantly jumped out to me with its petal like design which was part of their 2016 Valentines range of products. As I had never bought a Pandora ring or a 'real' ring for that fact, I was worried that I would get the sizing wrong, but Mococo has a really handy ring sizing guide on the site that I could refer too and which helped me get the size just right! This ring is literally perfect for daily wear, I wear it to work, on nights out and especially for casual wear. It can add a bit of glamour to the most casual and simplistic outfit which I worked into my recent outfit of the day!

I'm seriously loving an all black outfit at the moment, and I had to team it with my new Nike flyknit racer shoes that I picked up in New York, well worth the journey I think! They are seriously amazing and add such a cool edge to any outfit, I really appreciate trainers now as they are the most comfortable shoes ever, I am so done with high heeled boots and dolly shoes which squeeze my toes into their confined space and give me the worst blisters, does anyone else feel the same way? With a really relaxed look, it was the perfect time to add a bit of glamour to my fingers with my Pandora ring from Mococo. It doesnt matter the outfit, or how you're feeling, there's always an opportunity to add a bit of sparkle to your outfit!

What do you think of this Pandora Ring? Have you heard of Mococo before? Do you like wearing trainers for casual looks?

Mother's Day Home Pamper Package

I hope you all had a lovely day with your Mums or Mother figures on Sunday, my thoughts were equally with all of those whose mums sadly aren't with us anymore. Life has been so busy recently that I felt a bit guilty that I couldn't spend the whole day with my mum on Sunday as I was at a wedding all weekend. I did however get to spend the whole week with her before in New York which was just amazing (post on that coming very soon!)! With so many different holidays and special days throughout the year it can be an expensive time for everyone, especially when you want to be able to treat your Mum to something really special, even if your finances are telling you a different story. With this in mind, Ocean Loans set up a Mother's Day campaign to lend a helping hand this Mother's Day by giving a selection of bloggers £50 to treat their mum to a full day of treats, without the worry of how much money you're spending! I originally wanted to treat my mum to a lovely homemade afternoon tea, but as I had been so busy leading up to it I didn't have the time to arrange it on a weekend beforehand, so it was obvious that I should put together a lovely homemade spa package for her instead, as a girl after my own heart she absolutely loves premium haircare brands, Lush and other such goodness to make her feel good on the inside and out!
I am such a sucker for cute cards and I spend sooo long picking the perfect one. Paperchase is my go to for greeting cards as they have such a fun selection for all occasions. This isn't your ordinary card and is a concertina which leaves a space on the back of the card for writing. It's such a pretty floral card with two elephants taking centre stage!
First I popped into Lush for some of her favourite bits, she doesn't enjoy bath bombs, but is a huge fan of the warming massage bars. I also picked up a few new bits to introduce her too including golden handshake which is a hand mask, it's so beautifully packaged and formed - I'm really tempted to go back and get myself one as it looks so good. As well as a floating island bath oil which really does make for a super oily and nourishing bath, I picked out prince charming for her which smells amazing!! My mum swims a lot like me too, so the size of this shower gel is perfect for taking with her when she goes to the pool.
I always love receiving hair care and shower gels myself for my birthday or Christmas as it's stuff that sometimes feels like a chore buying for yourself, and this little lot will certainly keep her going for a while. I picked up her all time favourite shower gel which is just amazing, I love it so much too that I included it in my January Beaty Favourites! I also picked out some of her favourite shampoos and conditioners from premium haircare brands. Chlorine can be so draining on your hair and makes it incredibly limp, so you really do need some good quality products to help strip the nasties from your hair. Premium products can also soon add up in price, so she was incredibly delighted to be given all of these at once!
My mum is also a body scrub fiend so I picked up this little extra which is the sanctuary spa ultimate salt scrub. Again, it's the perfect little size to take to the pool or take away on holiday with her!
So this last present was completely random and not in any relation to the home pamper package I put together, but a couple of weekends ago my Mum spotted this glasses case in River Island and said how much she liked it. I pride myself on getting people amazing presents and it is literally because I remember every time someone says they like something and I write it down, it's amazing because I never have to think too hard about what to buy someone when I can refer to the list! She was delighted with this glasses case as you can imagine, and it's just SO pretty!
I managed to pick up lots of lovely bits all totaling to £50 ( It may have gone slightly over - but she's worth it right!?). She was over the moon with everything I picked up, and even though it wasn't an experience as I would have liked to have got her, these bits will last her a lot longer, and it's luxury things that she doesn't have to spend her own money on buying now either.
This post wouldn't be complete without a picture of me and my lovely mummy (Top of the rock!)! My mum literally is the best - caring, supportive and loving Mum, and not many people can also say that their mum is also their training partner!! I am incredibly lucky to have had such an amazing figure like this growing up when so many people sadly aren't fortunate enough to have the same. Whilst I couldn't spend the whole day with her, I'm almost certain I made it up to her with this lovely bundle of goodies which she loved! I would like to thank Ocean Loans again for making money no object this Mother's Day and helping me to give my mum everything she deserves! I also know that my Mum reads every single blog post I do which is the best, so if you're reading this I love you lots!!

How did you spend Mother's Day this year? What do you think of the home pamper package I put together for my Mum?

*Ocean Loans gave me £50 to spend on my Mum this Mothers' Day and all of these presents were given to my mum, All opinions however are 100% my own.

Minty Coco Teeth Whitening | Review

minty-coco-oil-pulling-review
Over the years I have definitely tried my fair share of at home teeth whitening treatments. Whilst the majority don't end up working, for those that do, you have to pay the price for sensitive teeth. Most teeth whitening products and professional treatments in general are abrasive, as they work by removing the top level of enamel on your teeth with damaging chemicals to achieve that whiter than white look. Despite not having the white teeth that I dream of I wouldn't trade it for sensitive teeth. So with the new craze of oil pulling which has been sweeping the nation over the last year I thought I would give Minty Coco* a try. A completely natural and non abrasive form of teeth whitening that can be achieved in as little as 2 weeks.

What is oil pulling?
So before we get to the nitty gritty, for those who don't know, oil pulling is something that has been around for years, and is widely speculated for its amazing benefits, with teeth whitening being the main one. Whilst coconut oil is the most common type of oil used for this, other oils such as sesame oil can also be used. The longer that you swish the oil around your mouth (don't gargle or swallow!) the better, they say that 20 minutes is how long it takes for it to finally break down the toxins and bacteria in your mouth, thus leading to whiter teeth!

Minty Coco is an incredibly convenient take on oil pulling that comes in little sachets, with the perfect amount for your daily session. Unlike ordinary coconut oil, this has been flavoured with peppermint essence if you hadn't already guessed it from the name! Because of this it really doesn't taste bad at all to be swishing it around your mouth for 15 minutes. The sachets are incredibly easy to tear open once you have warmed the sachet up in your hands (it solidifies when it gets cold), they recommend to swish the liquid around your mouth for 5-15 minutes, obviously the longer you do it the better it is for your teeth, but this can get quite tedious and exhausting for your jaw after a while!

I have now finished my two week trial of Minty Coco, I was supplied with 14 sachets and I used these daily in the evening before I brushed my teeth (this can be done in the morning too). I found the whole thing really alien on the first night as I have never done anything like this before. But by the second night it came as a second nature to me and it was much easier to put all of the liquid into my mouth without the fear of swallowing it! I was dubious about trying oil pulling to start with as I had heard that regular oil pulling makes people gag from the taste of it, but the beauty of Minty Coco is that it doesn't taste like a regular oil at all, more like a thicker mouth wash. 15 minutes to swish the liquid around your mouth does feel like a lifetime, so I only did it for just over 5 minutes every day. I found it was best to be doing something at the same time, such as taking my makeup off or having a shower.

Coconut oil in general can clog up your drains which I had no idea about before as it begins to solidify when it gets cold, so it is recommended that you spit it out into a bin afterwards. As I mentioned before, after swishing the liquid around I brushed my teeth straight afterwards. My teeth are left feeling incredibly clean and minty fresh afterwards, and the best thing is it's completely natural and non abrasive. It's also rumoured to be good for sore throats and your sinuses too, and from a hygiene point of view it really has made my teeth feel cleaner than ever! But this all boils down to the main question on everyone's lips, has it whitened my teeth?

( Sorry for the poor quality - I had to snap these on my Iphone and I wanted them to be as close up as possible (they've not been edited in anyway and were done in the same lighting).

As you can see from my before and after picture I wouldn't say that my teeth look visibly whiter after two weeks, but they certainly look a 'bit' whiter on my top set of teeth. However, after only two weeks with a treatment that is completely natural I think you have to give it credit where it's due. I knew this wouldn't be a quick fix, and realistically I think oil pulling is a lifestyle choice and it's something that needs to be a consistent part of your routine to get a whiter result. Overall, Minty Coco has really impressed me, it has made my teeth feel cleaner, breath fresher and I think I'm on my way to whiter teeth... I would recommend anyone to give this a try who is looking for a natural answer to teeth whitening. For only £19.99 it's definitely worth it to try the oil pulling craze in a much more easier, and tastier way!

What do you think of the results? Have you tried oil pulling before? Will you give Minty Coco a try?

I got back from New York on Saturday and I'm already thinking of planning my next trip, I'd been to New York before but only in passing for shopping after I finished Camp America, so the last week there really was amazing - so much sightseeing, shopping and food! I can't wait to share with you all of my pictures in a travel post, and most importantly what I bought!

Anyway, I have been meaning to share this look for a while now, I am obsessed with ombre and gradient colours on clothing, and this jumper from Topshop nails the trend perfectly. With a white upper leading into a dark grey, it looks perfect with dark bottoms but could also look good tucked into a pastel skirt or pair of jeans. It was a super cold day when I shot these pictures so I finished the outfit off with this super warm shearling jacket that is now coincidentally in the sale in New Look!

What do you think of this outfit?
