January Beauty Favourites

January-beauty-favourites
For once I'm not going to say that this month has flown by as it really hasn't for me! January also feels like a really depressing month, it's just after Christmas and it's too far away from the summer sun. But as they say, everyday may not be good but there is something good in every day! And I did discover some seriously amazing beauty favourites this month that have helped me survive January! So kick starting 2016 with a bang, and happy to be finally entering February, here is what products I have been loving this month!
January-beauty-favourites
glow-pot-topshop
I've only very recently got a lot more into makeup, and I 100% put that down to watching youtube videos, aren't they the best? It also makes me want to buy everything they use so I can at least try at recreating their flawless makeup looks! That Pommie Girl is a favourite of mine, and her contouring skills are second to none! One of the products that she uses to achieve her illuminating glow is with the Topshop Glow Pot in polish. For Topshop makeup I am seriously impressed, it has such a beautiful white iridescent colour, and it gives your skin a gorgeous pearly glow. It's so easy to apply, and you barely need to use any as it does go a long way. Like I would with a standard powder highlighter, I use some of this on the inner corners of my eyes, tops of my cheekbones, end of my nose and under the arches of my eyebrows. It is by far the best product for highlighting your eyebrows with an arched brush, and I think it should be in everyone's makeup bag this year if you don't already have it!
aesop-control-gel
Aesop Control Gel - £15.00
As I've mentioned in skincare posts before, I suffered from bad acne a few years ago and still do suffer from problematic skin, something that is definitely not helped by the stresses of work! Whilst exercising and a good diet help you from the inside out, some breakouts unfortunately can't be stopped. Quinodern is a spot cream that I use for big spots as it quickly dries them out, however it makes your skin sting like no one elses business! Over time I've learnt that instead of drying the spot out you should be giving the spot moisture and nourishing it to let it heal and repair, and to not leave you with any other added skin issues like dry/cracked skin. This Aesop control gel does just that, it's so nice to finally find a spot cream that doesn't sting! It has a slightly lemony scent to it and it contains salicylic acid and niacinamide. It can be applied to your spot directly from the tube, although it's more hygienic to do it with a cotton bud. This slightly sticky formula is so kind and calming to your skin, and it really helps with overall redness without drying and stinging your skin in the process!
light-up-bath-duck
Light Up Bath Duck
Long hot soaks in a bubbly bath are my favourite thing to do in the winter after a long day at work, and this light up bath duck that I got for Christmas really is the best thing ever for someone like me! Making my bath time even more relaxing, as soon as it hits the water it starts to light up and it changes into different mood enhancing colours. It looks so cute on the bathroom shelves when not in use too!
sanctuary-spa-body-wash
Okay, so technically it's just a shower gel. But trust me, this Sanctuary spa shower gel is one of the most luxurious ones that I've tried, and one of very few that actually gets rid of the lingering smell of chlorine. Filled with bursting beads, it has the nicest nourishing formula for silky feeling skin. Another great shower gel discovery of 2015 was the Imperial Leather marshmallow shower gel, it really does smell as good as the real thing, and it's completely guilt free!
Lee-Stafford-coco-loco-shampoo
Lee Stafford is an all time favourite hair care brand of mine, towards the end of last year he brought out the new Coco Loco range of products which help you achieve silky soft, shiny hair. Admittedly I bought the range for my mum for Christmas, but I have quickly commandeered it! It leaves your hair with the nicest coconut scent, which you can still smell after a few days! It lathers up really well and makes my hair feel squeaky clean, doesn't all shampoo? I hear you say! But it really does, I feel like it strips my hair of all of the products and environmental stresses, and it does work really well for my hair!
benefit-cosmetics-air-patrol
Mini Benefit cosmetics samples really are the best! They're so handy for holidays, and the best way to see if you actually like something. One of their new releases towards the end of last year was Air Patrol which is essentially a primer for your eyes. The formula is a bit like a cream, and you only need to use a dot sized amount of it. It gives your eyelids a blank base for your eye shadow, contains SPF 20, and definitely helps my eye makeup stay on for longer! As you can see I've already bought the full size of this product as I can't bare to have one makeup day without it now!

I've discovered some really amazing beauty finds this month and I will 100% be repurchasing them all! What beauty products have you been loving recently? Do you like any of these products? What would you like to try?

Valentine's Day Gift Guide For Him | Under £10

valentines-day-gift-ideas-for-him

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching I thought it was about time I put together a mini gift guide! Whilst I'm not the biggest believer in Valentine's Day, I still think a thoughtful card and a small gift is a nice gesture. Seeing as men are by far the most difficult to buy for, I thought it was more beneficial for me to put together a selection of products for men which are all under £10 too! So whether it's for a boyfriend, husband, dad or friend you'll still be able to get something nice which won't break the bank, Valentine's Day is definitely not about who can spend the most money, well I don't think so anyway!

Being a massive fan of novelty socks, I just had to pick these Spongebob socks, I got the girl version myself which is a Kermit & Little Miss Piggy pair of socks, just the cutest! I also couldn't resist picking out the pug boxers, it's something about their big googly eyes that I just love so much! As well as some other clothing accessories, I had to include some yummy hotel chocolate choccies (the way to a girls heart too!), some grooming essentials and novelty mugs, because we can never have too many mugs! Men really are the hardest to buy for regardless of the occasion, so this can definitely be referred to for Birthday's, Father's Day and Christmas too! But generally speaking, if it's along the lines of food, grooming, clothing, or alcohol you really can't go wrong!

What are you thoughts on Valentine's Day? What do you think of my picks?

All Boxed Up Home Spa Beauty Box | Review

all-boxed-up-beauty-box
There's nothing I love more than getting my hands on some amazing branded beauty products at a fraction of the price. With the rise in beauty boxes on the market, there is an incredible choice of reasonably priced boxes these days that offer a selection of both full sized and mini products at a discounted price. Last week I was introduced to the beauty offer company All Boxed Up. Fairly new to the beauty box market, they have already delivered some great value themed beauty boxes, and their first offer for 2016 is this Home Spa Beauty Box*. This beauty box is worth £113 which can be purchased for only £19.99 which even includes postage!! Containing 5 full sized products including brands Cowshed, Timebomb and Percy & Reed, I was instantly impressed with their offering, and they were just the type of products that I needed to look after, and heal my body during dreary January!

I've never come across something quite like this Percy & Reed foaming treatment mask for your hair. Designed for flat and fine hair, this is a rich conditioning treatment that claims to add volume and bounce to your hair, whilst moisturising your tresses. The application of this is just like a hair mousse which I just couldn't get my head around, instead of applying it directly to your hair you dip your comb or brush into the foam and comb it through your hair from root to tip. After getting my head around this conditioning mousse, I must say I am incredibly impressed. My hair doesn't feel so sleek and soft when I wash it out, which means it has left my hair bouncy, fluffy and less greasy for longer. I would recommend this product to anyone for its innovation and long lasting treatment!

I've never tried anything in the Time Bomb range, but have always lusted after their packaging and array of fancy beauty products to enhance my skincare regime. This Derm Warfare night serum is known as the secret weapon in the wear against ageing. The formula is a gentle, but powerful blend of glycolic acid and rejavastin complex which works by lifting off the dead surface layer of the skin and promoting the skins elasticity for a more toned, and plumper look. I'm still on the look out for a good night serum that works well with my skin, so after reading up on reviews I'm hoping for good things with this serum!

Another brand that I've not had the pleasure of trying is Pecksniff's England. Fragranced with sandalwood and vanilla, this is an intensive moisturiser which is enriched with argan oil - an oil which is renown for its array of benefits for your hair, body and nails. I've never used a dry body oil before, probably through lack of understanding of the product and fear of making my clothes and bedding oily! But this claims to be a fast absorbing oil  which leaves your skin non greasy, as well as being incredibly nourishing for your skin.  In its fancy tall blue bottle, I'm looking forward to testing this out in my night time routine as well!

This Cowshed invigorating body lotion is simply divine!  The packagaing of Cowshed products is gorgeous anyway, and I love the monochrome theme to this bottle with a pop of colour on the writing. A little bit of this lotion really does go a long way as it's super moisturising, so a bottle like this is going to last me a long time! Scented like lemon sherbets, it has a blend of essential oils, lemongrass, ginger and rosemary, with lemongrass being the most noticeable note of the fragrance.

Sanctuary Spa is one of my favourite luxurious bathing brands, and for good reason too! I am yet to try this Drift Away Bath Float which is part of the Sanctuary Spa range of sleep products. This creamy bath float is the perfect formula to add to a warm bath and which will fill your bath with thick, comforting bubbles. I really cannot wait to use this, because as you all know, I love a good soak and relax in the bath. This bath float also claims to help reduce muscle tension, stress and anxiety before sleep which is definitely what I need after a hard week at work!! I will look to do a full review on this in the future, you may even see it pop up in my monthly beauty favourites!

The All Boxed Up Home Spa Beauty Box really is packed full of some amazing brands and products that I now have the pleasure of trying out! This beauty box is an incredible offer considering all of the products amount to a staggering £113 in total! It's also a great way of testing things out to see if you really like the brand and the products, and for £19.99 you really can't go wrong! They also have a range of other beauty boxes on offer at the moment including a Valentine's Day beauty box, Telegraph Winter Beauty Box and more!

Have you heard of Unboxed? Have you tried any of these products?

*Products marked with an asterix (*) have been sent to me for review. However, all opinions in this post are 100% my own
