5 Hair Care/Styling Favourites

Having long hair at times can be both the best thing and the worst, no one can begin to imagine the tangles, caught hair and extensive hair drying times. But having said that, it's all worth it when it looks amazing! With the right hair care styling products and tools it has made my life a lot easier. Many of these products have been my favourites for absolute years, when I find something that works I hold on to it for life, if it ain't broke don't fix it right? If you're looking for something to make your hair more manageable, here are 5 of my current top 5 hair care/styling favourites that have made their way into my routine!

#1. Tangle Teezer
I've been confessing my love for the trusty Tangle Teezer since way before I began writing this blog 3 years ago. Sick of tangly hair and combs that snagged my hair in the shower, I was given my first compact tangle teezer 4 years ago for my Birthday and which I still use to this day, it really is long lasting! I now have a collection of 4 tangle teezers, all with different styles and sizes. I now have a tangle teezer for every bag I own, and I just couldn't be without one again. I cringe at the thought of putting a comb through wet hair again, and it's true that the tangle teezer is one of the best discoveries I have ever made for my long hair. It makes brushing it through in the mornings, at the end of the day, after a swim and in the shower a dream, getting rid of tangles with ease, and without snapping the ends of my hair. Tangle Teezer have expanded over the years since I first started using them and they now have a limited edition range to complement the existing originals, I mean who could resist a pug printed tangle teezer? I know what my sixth teezer to join the family is going to be...
#2. Lee Stafford Chopstick Styler
Where curly hair is concerned, the chopstick styler is a game changer. I repeat, this is the only curler I have ever used that creates tight curls which last and don't drop out. Sure, it's a very tedious task as it takes me just over an hour to create a full head of curl worthy hair, but boy does it look good, and it lasts for days even through sleep and daily life. It's not something I use often as I can imagine it's so damaging to your hair, but if you're looking for a fun, show stopping hair styler then you need this in your life! Proof is in the pudding as they say, see it below in action...
#3. Moroccan Oil
Many a blog post has boasted the amazing product that is Moroccan oil. At £30 a pop a bottle, this stuff is not cheap, but if you're looking to maintain long hair without it looking like straw or wanting to grow your hair, this stuff is like liquid nitrogen. You only need to apply a few drops of this to your hair after washing your hair and one bottle lasts me a year so it really is worth the money. It's one of the best hair oils I have used and I always think it's worth spending money on high quality items when it comes to your hair.
#4. Invisibobble
Whatever your hair length, wearing it in a pony or bun all day can cause headaches and sore scalps. I tend to stick to low ponies or plaits these days because of the strain. When I use normal hair bands I feel like I have bruises on my scalp afterwards, ouch! I discovered invisibobbles about a year ago and haven't looked back, these unusual telephone cord esque bands are easy to use, they're virtually invisible once they're in your hair, they won't leave those tell tale marks on your hair, and most importantly they don't hurt your head! They're available in  a range of different colours these days and sizes, I have a clear box of these as I personally think they look more seamless and invisible in the hair!
#5. Towelling Headband
Not an essential, but a necessity. When you have long hair or any length hair for that matter, washing your face or brushing your teeth becomes a military operation. Trying to keep that hair back from your face isn't an easy task which is why I swear by my towelling headband. It's soft, pink and keeps all my hair back with ease, what's not to love? I wear it when I apply my makeup too so I have a completely clear base to work from with no hair that gets congealed within my foundation, or even worse, my lip gloss!
My hair care routine is constantly expanding and I love trying new products to help make my hair look fabulous, so do let me know if there are any other miracle products that I should be trying out!

What are your hair care favourites? Have you tried any of these products/tools before?

Kebelo Enriching Hair Care Range Review

Kebelo-ultimate-enriching-range
I'm back from an amazing trip in Finland now (more about that in another post!) and I'm back with lots of fresh new content to bring to you, I also have the rest of the week off work so I have plenty of time for once to do some blogging! Recently Lookfantastic introduced me to an amazing new hair care brand called Kebelo. New brands that come onto the market ridiculously excite me as I rarely ever stick to one type of shampoo/conditioner. Kebelo seem to be a great universal brand and have products suitable for every hair type. They offer 4 different types of ranges to suit each individual including; the Revitalising Range, Enriching Range, Silk Range and Velvet Curls Range. They also have some clarifying products too which are perfect for all hair types, more about that later... I have been testing these products for over a couple of weeks now so lets see how I got on...
Kebelo
The bundle of Kebelo products came beautifully wrapped!
Kebelo-ultimate-enriching-range
Kebelo The Ultimate Enriching Set* £29.85
I opted for the enriching range which is designed for normal to dry hair. The set includes a shampoo, conditioner and hair mask and they are all enriched with guar sugar, wheat, argan and grape oil, this range intends to create softer, healthier hair that feels nourished from within. I think most people suffer from dry hair at some time in their life and no one likes having hair that resembles a piece of straw..This set is perfect for re hydrating dry and dull hair and restoring it to luscious and bouncy locks!

I adore the packaging of these products, the different colours on the bottles makes it much easier to distinguish which one is the shampoo and conditioner, is it only me that always gets mixed up?! The shampoo and conditioner complement each other really well. The shampoo lathers up really well  and you can tell that there is guar sugar and grape oil in the products, as they do smell pretty similar to grapes... but not in a bad way! I have then been using the conditioner afterwards which leaves my hair so silky and smooth. This set was a no brainer for me as with long hair I do suffer with dry ends so it's really helped to add moisture back into my hair. On alternate washes I have been using the hair mask with the shampoo, you can leave masks on for however long you like really, this one suggests for 10-20 minutes, the longer the better in my opinion. As a real treat I love slathering my hair in this and wrapping cling film or a towel around my hair and sleeping with it in, as it gives your hair a nice long time to drink it up. As I swim a lot I also pop a good lathering of it under my hair cap and it works a treat from protecting it from the chlorine and preventing it from drying out even more!
Kebelo-ultimate-enriching-range
Kebelo-clarifying-shampoo
Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo* (250ml) £12.95
I was also given the shampoo from the clarifying range to test out which is suitable for all hair types. Clarifying shampoos basically act as a detox for the hair, they help to exfoliate your hair and delicately strip the build up of chemicals from products, daily environmental factors and chlorine from swimming - an all round perfect product for me! This product can be used as little as once a month to help keep your hair free from a build up. Personally, I have been using this in most washes and have completely fell in love with it. The product strips your hair without being too harsh and you can definitely tell the difference when using this against a normal shampoo as it makes my hair feel a lot squeakier and dryer before putting conditioner onto my hair. Once dry my hair feels so much thicker, healthier and luscious and I could not recommend this product from the Kebelo clarifying range enough as it really is a product that everyone needs to look into using. It is natural for everyone to get a build up on their hair which does need to be exfoliated and gently removed occasionally, our hair is no different to our skin at the end of the day, the only difference is we can't see the build up on our hair!
Kebelo-lookfantastic
A big thank you to Lookfantastic to introducing me to Kebelo, my hair is feeling better than ever with the enriching range and a well overdue detox with the clarifying shampoo! The ranges are reasonably priced and the bottles will probably last me for a few months as you don't need to use a lot of the product for each wash. I did love the enriching range but without a doubt the clarifying shampoo is the winner for me, I often forget that hair gets a build up and it's probably worse for me as my hair is exposed to a lot of chlorine and this shampoo has helped to revitalise my tired and dull tresses and make them look better than ever, forget the teatox its all about the hairtox this month!

Have you heard of Kebelo before? Would you like to try out this range? What hair brands are your favourite?

Ko:Kou Pro Dallas hair straighteners | Review

For so long i have only ever used GHD straighteners for my hair, i think the fact that they are so widely used and known and because of how amazing they are! Because i have such long hair i guess i just always stick to what i know works best. But when i was asked to test out the Ko:Kou Pro Dallas hair straighteners i jumped at the chance to try out a different brand!

Firstly i love the girly packaging that it comes in, anything that is pink instantly wins me over! I know the colour of a product doesnt make any difference to its job but having a red pair is such a nice change to the boring black pair that i own! The instructions are all super easy to follow and ultimately they work how any other straighteners do. They can heat up to 210 degrees which i think is about around how hot the GHD's also heat up to. I opted for 190 degree heat as i try not to cause too much heat damage to my hair. It claims to be a fast heat up although for me i think it did take slightly long, a few minutes at the most but i think i'm just used to how fast the GHD's  heat up so all in all they arent too far behind but i do usually opt for a product with a fast heat up.

I did favour how the ceramic plates are slightly wider than my other pair which means i could cover more hair at once, which is a god send when you have such long hair like myself! I also liked how once clamped down on the hair and whilst straightening it didn't snag or even pull at my hair at all, i find that with my GHD'S they clamp down so hard that it pulls and snags my hair when you hit a tangle.

The finished result can be seen above and i am really impressed with how my hair came out. It gave my hair a sleek finish and overall i think that these are a fantastic and MUCH cheaper alternative to standard GHD's! Ko:Kou sell these as well as a wide selection of other hair appliances at affordable prices!

Have you heard of these hair straighteners before? What are your favourite hair appliances to use?

Oleo Argan oil Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a nice weekend, what are you all up to? I'm off to a Vintage fair today which i'm soo excited for and hope i pick up some good pieces and there will definitely be a blog post up next week on it, i also have lots of revision to do as i have my first exam on Monday eek!

Hair oils have been the best find for my hair this past year and Moroccan oil has always been my go to oil and it has greatly improved the condition of my hair and also helped it to grow even longer, the only thing i don't like about it is the price which is around £30, so i am so glad that i have found a cheaper alternative to this which is this brand of hair oil which is called Oleo Argan oil* which is 100% pure organic argan oil. This product is sourced from Morocco and it is the only place that the finest argan oil is produced, so you know you really are getting the best stuff for your hair and body!

This is also the added benefit of oleo argan oil as it can be used on more than just your hair, also on your body, face and nails! So it really is a multi purpose oil for a fraction of most oils price, you definitely are getting the most for your money.

Hair -
Firstly the oil really has no fragrance to it at all, compared to other oils i have tried where the scent is far too strong for me. With most oils as you probably know it really is a case of  'less is more' but with this oil you need even less than you would with say Moroccan oil for example. I used a small drop for my hair and i just applied this to the ends of my hair after i had washed it. The product is very greasy and you really don't need much at all!! It made my hair feel really soft and nourished and not dry at all. I also used this as a pre shampoo treatment, when i was swimming i put this onto my hair under my swim cap and it really helped to keep my hair moisturised in the water and it helps to protect it against the chlorine. It can also be used as a conditioner, a deep treatment or even as an anti-frizz serum before blowdrying your hair. There really is so many ways you can use this on your hair and when you use so little amount of the product it will last you a long time.

Skin -
I think i have found in this oil one of the best moisturisers i have ever discovered! Again you don't need to use much of the product and you just apply it to the skin like you would with a normal moisturiser. I was worried that my skin would feel greasy afterwards and would just sit there but it absorbed into the skin so quickly and when you rub it in the oil warms up. My skin felt so moisturised and 12 hours later my skin still felt reasonably moisturised which for me is unheard of with most other moisturisers.

Other uses -
As i previously mentioned it can also be used on your face which i haven't tried as personally i think the product would be too greasy for my face and i am scared that it would cause my acne to return but i'm sure that if you suffer from dry skin this would be great for you. Also if you rub this on your nails regularly the condition of your nails should improve and become stronger over time,i will definitely be trying out this use next!

Overall i think this is a great product, for £19.95 for 100ml you really do get the finest quality and as a small amount goes a long way, it is cost effective because it will last you a long time. You can also purchase it in bigger sizes or if you want to give it a trial run you can buy a travel size for only £11.95. If you are looking to improve the condition of your hair, skin and nails and are looking for a cheaper alternative to other oils then Oleo Argan Oil is your answer!!

I hope you enjoyed reading my review! Have you tried this oil before? Do you love oils too?what oils do you use?

John Freida | Sheer Blonde Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend, I've been bogged under by uni work and have found blogging a great escape from it! I also apologise about the setting of these photos, living in student accommodation it is incredibly difficult to find somewhere nice and light to take some pictures! I think i will be doing my photography outside from now on! Today i am going to be reviewing some products from John Frieda, from the Sheer Blonde range* and the Luxurious Volume range*. As you all know i have very long hair which is thick but very fine so i find it very hard to give my hair volume as its very flat, i also have naturally very blonde ends to my hair, a mixture of sun damage and the chlorine from a swimming pool haha. So these products are really focused on my problem areas and by helping to enhance my hair and to maintain the colour. John Friedas sheer blonde range is focused on enabling you to 'keep blonde'.
John Frieda| sheer blonde| Highlight activating moisturising shampoo* & John Frieda| Sheer Blonde| Highlight activating moisturising conditioner*

John Frieda has always been a brand that i have returned to as i love what their products do to my hair and it is a very affordable professional hair care brand. The idea of using the combination of these both is to smooth your hair and to mend porous areas to restore a healthier texture. As well as this it is highlight activating formula and it claims to reveal a spectrum of blonde tones.

The scent of hair care is the first thing that will either put me off a product or draw me in to try it. I really don't like strong smells on my hair but i love the great balance the combination of these two have. There is a slight fragrance to it which is described as being 'jojoba oil, sunflower and white tea' it is a rather unusual smell but i love the different notes to the scent and it really is not strong at all and it leaves your tresses smelling beautifully!

When i use hair products i always struggle to find something moisturising enough. But John Frieda I have been blown away by using the combination of both of these products. It is honestly the first time my hair has felt so sleek and smooth, with barely any tangles for more than just the first day after a wash, the products lather up really well and you barely need to use much of the shampoo. For the conditoner i always use a lot, probably more than i should but it really helps to keep my long hair manageable. The shampoo/conditioner also should help to mend damaged areas of your hair, my hair is in quite good condition at the moment so its hard for me to comment on that but for a product that leaves my hair that soft and manageable it has to be doing something marvelous, with the use of moroccan oil afterwards i'm sure its helping my hair to repair itself even more.

As a highlight acitivating moisturising formula i am also very impressed with the outcome after a short period of time. My hair is not completely blonde but as i mentioned before the ends are very blonde, as well as my roots. The use of these has definitely helped to enhance the colour and made it even whiter which i am loving as it means i don't have to go to the unnecessary damage of dying or highlighting my hair (which i never do anyway!) and it also reveals a full spectrum of blonde tones so even if you have a small amount of blonde running through your hair this will help to enhance that. There are also variations of these products which are aimed at darker and lighter shades,so there is something for every hair colour. As well as this i love that they are bottled in squeezy tubes as its a lot easier to use and it is a more controlled way to get the exact amount of the product that you want to use without any waste.
John Frieda| Luxurious volume|Blow dry lotion root booster* & John Frieda|Luxurious volume| Fine to full out blow dry spray*

I have only used these two products a few times so i will share my first impressions with you and do a full review at a later time. For a girl with very long fine hair, volume is practically non existent and my hair can look so limp! I rarely blow dry my hair but these products suggest best results if you spritz the hair in the desired places first and then blow dry. I found the fine to full out blow dry a lot better for my hair type than just the root booster because it gave my whole hair a lot more volume and made it appear even thicker, with the root booster i didn't feel like it gave me much volume at all and the rest of my hair was still so limp. The fine to full out blow dry spray i would liken to the Bumble & Bumble thickening hairspray which i also think is really effective, although i much prefer the scent of this one!

I would fully recommend the combination of the highlight activating shampoo and conditioner in their sheer blonde range as i am so pleased with the results and it is reasonably priced at around £5.60 which you can buy from Boots for usually the cheapest price. Also look out for my full review on the luxurious volume range coming soon!

There is also a fantastic Facebook competition running until the 28th October on the John Frieda UK page for a chance to win loads of products and spa treatments. There are lots of different prizes being given away every day so there is lots of chances to win, i have been religiously entering each day!

Also, If you're a fan of youtube you can find John Frieda on their youtube channel, their most recent video gives expert hair styling tips, which was really useful to watch and i'm sure you will all love if you're a fan of watching hair and beauty tutorials!

I hope you enjoyed reading! What do you think of this John Frieda range? Have you tried any of these products?

My hair care

Hello everyone! Today i'm going to be telling you about what products i use to care for my hair. It has taken me years to grow my hair to this length and after a few nasty dye jobs a few years ago i have finally got my hair into very good condition and this is down to these 'wonder' products!

Moroccan Oil 100ml- £31.85
So most people know what Moroccan oil is by now,but if not check it out here . This product has completely saved my hair. I started using it in February and purchased the small bottle(25ml), but of course i loved it so much i had to buy the big bottle(100ml). This stuff is costly but it is 100% worth it. It has reduced the frizz on the ends of my hair and since using it i have not developed many more split ends,it gives my hair shine and the overall condition has improved meaning that my hair has grown even longer! I usually use about 2 blobs of the oil which i rub between my hands and i apply this to the mid/end lengths of my hair.

TRESemme platinum strength conditioner - £2.35
I never really have a favourite shampoo or conditioner as i like mixing it up and trying different products. But i always return to TRESemme, you cant beat a good professional salon product and this conditioner can also be used as a mask, it leaves my hair tangle free and super soft! Not only that is is so cheap and i picked this one up in Wilkinsons for only £2.35!!Also, for those of you who like swimming or if you are on holiday my top tip is applying this or any other conditioner to the ends of the hair beforehand because it protects your hair from the chlorine and it doesn't leave it feeling like straw when it dries! When i'm doing serious swimming i pop my swim hat over the top and the heat inside acts like an intensive hair mask, brilliant!

Loreal Paris Elnett satin heat protect styling spray170ml- £5.99
I rarely use heat on my hair these days and if i do it is only for special occasions and nights out,i guess i really should make more effort haha. Anyway, when i do use heat i always use a heat defence spray and this Loreal Paris one is fantastic! I've tried many others in the past but this is a winner for me,i love the smell and it doesn't feel like i have any product in my hair at all.It also locks-out frizz and tames my flyaways, it also states that it locks in a straight look for 3 days, but for me it usually lasts for about a day as my hair has a mind of its own! Not only this but it also protects your hair up to 230 degrees which is perfect if you're an avid GHD user!

Unite 7 seconds conditioner 59ml -£5.10
I have very thick hair but my hairs are fine meaning that they are always getting tangled,it's painful and heartbreaking seeing clumps of your hair in your hairbrush! I recently heard about Unite 7 seconds leave in conditioner and i had to try it,i purchased the travel size first. It is amazing! It really does what it says on the bottle that it detangles hair in 7 seconds, not only this it also locks in colour, its a UV protector, thermal protector and a weightless conditioner. The smell of it is also really nice and i always use this before i brush my hair and it has really reduced the breakages in my hair and it has made it a lot more manageable.

Leopard print Tangle Teezer - £8.99

Lastly is the trusty tangle teezer. I don't know how i ever lived without this! Pretty self explanatory but it can be used on dry and wet hair,it really helps to manage my tangles and the added benefit of using it on wet hair is perfect for me because i swim a lot.

I would recommend all of these products if you have or are seeking long hair! As well as this i also get my hair trimmed every 6-10 months to keep the split ends at bay!I hope you enjoyed my first hair themed post! Have you tried any of these products or have and hair product recommendations?
