Sour Cherry Nail decals

I have always been an avid user of nail stickers and transfers because lets face it i'm not the best at nail art, nor am i a WAH nail artist :( and i always find it so fiddly and time consuming, but with these decals they enable you to achieve cute nails in a short period of time yet they still look fab!

These cute and quirky Nail Decals* are available from Sour Cherry. If you haven't heard of them before they sell affordable handmade jewellery as well as other accessories such as bags,hair accessories and of course nail art which is what i am sharing with you today!

Green Norwegian knit full nail decals* 

I've never used nail decals like this before and have only ever used ones that are applied like a sticker. But with these you first put them into water,then the backing is peeled off and the decal is placed and left to dry on your nail. The instructions on the back of the pack are easy to follow and do exactly as they say. I liked how you were able to cut them down to the size required before applying, however,i found applying these actually really tricky to place on the nail and keep in the desired place before they dried. When they were left to dry on the nail for about 10 minutes you can then apply a top coat to seal it.

Unfortunately i did find the process very time consuming,but i did get faster at it once i got the knack of it. Regardless of that i am sooo impressed with the outcome of them! They have lasted me 5 days which is unheard of with normal nail polish for me,the application process is hard but once applied you don't get chips with these and the aztec/knit pattern is so pretty!

Snack food decals*

I think these are the cutest decals i have ever come across,i opted for an ice cream/lolly theme but there was also popcorn and pretzels that i could have used (amazing!)! These were actually a lot easier to apply than the full nail decals and again i used a top coat on top to seal the decal to the nail. Again, the staying power of these transfers is really good,and i would fully recommend these. Its a shame that the nail polish doesn't stay for as long though!

A/W Nails

Autumn is well and truly here now, so I thought it was about time i put my favourite neon shades to the back of the box (sob) and get some new varnishes more suited to this time of the year! 

I was lucky enough to receive a lovely No7 box of these 5 shades for my birthday which i think pretty much sum up autumn colours for me. No7 is a brand which i know many people probably don't associate with nail varnishes, i always go straight for Models Own,Barry M, Essie etc. So i was so happy to try out some of their colours and they are really well lasting.These all needed 2 coats each and the glittery colours are actually all top coats but i love anything sparkly and like to go the whole hog with the colour,it would also look as a top coat though on colours like white and black and these glittery colours really are such a season appropriate colour. I also love Temptress which is a deep rick berry colour and Beanie which is a mushroom colour,both are perfect darker colours for autumn which i will be getting a lot of wear out of!

I also received my first essie polish for my birthday eek! Cobalt blue is a colour which is still very much in this season,it is such a dark sheer colour which i really am in love with. I would say that it is probably one of my favourite colours that i picked out for my selection. It is by far the best quality polish i have used so far, my nail colour usually chips off so easily but while wearing this the colour it lasted for days and only two coats were applied. 

Lastly, another shade i got for my birthday (aren't i lucky!) is a gorgeous shimmery gold which is a colour i have been after for ages! I love the easy application of the fan effect bourjois polishes and you cant see so well in the picture but the colour is very metallic and has shimmery glitters running throughout it,this will definitely be the colour for the upcoming party seasons!

Bourjois nails

The Last time i was in boots i took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer on Bourjois, i don't actually own many products from their range so i picked out two of their nail polishes, shade 25 -Melon from their 1 seconde range and their new manicure laser toppings number 38 - Sun Scales,i also picked up one of their new colour boost glossy lipsticks which i love,review will follow very soon. They also threw in a pair of sunglasses in the 3 for 2 offer which are actually surprisingly nice!

This is the first time using nail varnishes from their range and the fan effect brush for the 1 seonde nail varnish and the manicure topping is life changing! You can pretty much cover the nail in one brush,meaning that i am no longer covering my entire cuticles in the polish and the nail doesn't look thick with all of the excessive amount of brushing to cover the nail. As well as this it also claims that the varnish drying time is 50 seconds which i definitely think the polish reflects,it dried really fast for me and i could use my hands to do things soon after without it chipping off.I am really taken with it and will definitely be buying more from their range due to the ease of it. I popped the new manicure laser toppings on top, this one is called sun scales and it features strands of gold,bronze and almost light pink,in the sun it really brings out the different colours in the fibres they use. I think these two colours layered on top of each other look really effective!

WAH Nails

I am completely obsessed with following WAH nails on Instagram, their designs are amazing and i am lusting over every design! Whenever i next end up in London i am definitely taking myself down to WAH nails in the Oxford street store of Topshop for a manicure, the only problem would be deciding what design to go for! Much to my delight towards the end of last year i discovered they had a nail art book and i bought this from Urban Outfitters for £9.99 (buy here). It features 25 nail art designs with a full set of instructions which are really easy to follow,it also has other pages of inspiration and the current nail designs they offer in store and if you want to design your own nail art there is a space for that too!I love this book so much and i have attempted most of the nail art designs,i'm no WAH nail artist though sadly. Here is one of my attempts of their basketcase nail design!

Above are the nail art pens that i have been using,i picked these up in urban outfitters while i was in Sweden so unfortunately i don't know the cost in pounds, they are fab though, and they can be used as a nail art pen or a nail varnish and as well as this, attached to the bottom is lots of gems which are colour coordinated to the varnish colour. The possibilities are endless!

How to do| Newsprint nails tutorial!

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend, despite the weather being rainy where I live i'm making the most of it! Here is a simple nail art tutorial on how to do newsprint nails, it isn't time consuming and the result is a simple yet different design!

What you'll need:

-Your nails!

-newspaper

-Light coloured nail polish(such as nude,light pink,white)

-Top coat

-Vodka(paint stripper!)

Tip - The cheaper the vodka the better

Top coat - Collection 2000// Barry M - Lychee

1. Firstly i chose a light coloured nail polish for the base coat of my nails, this is so the news print will show up more clearly against a light nail.I find that white works best but this time i used Barry M Lychee (nude).

2. Then take a newspaper and tear into strips roughly a bit bigger than your nail,do this 10 times,one for each nail.

3. All you need is a tiny bit of vodka or paint stripper for the next step. I poured a little bit into the lid for this,i then dipped one nail at a time into the vodka and then pressed one of the strips onto the nail for about 10 seconds,peel it back and you have newsprint nails!

4.Continue this for all nails and then add a top coat on top to seal the print onto the nails. It really is an easy way to have some cute nails!
