Review | The Fragrance shop: Discovery Club summer 2014 edition

Fragrance-shop-discovery-club
I've often found myself browsing the perfume aisles and being pressured into buying something which I've only smelt once. I always think that the scent of the perfume on your skin changes as the day goes on which means you never get a good try of the product before you buy. The Fragrance Shop have answered my prayers and if you're familiar with beauty boxes anyway then you will love the addition to the market of the Discovery Club Box, this edition comes packed with 7 vial samples (usually 5) which total at £40. At only £5 per quarter (£20 total subscription per year) you are already making a massive saving. TheDiscovery box gives you the perfect option to try them out at home before purchasing the full size bottle, the box also contains vouchers with £5 off each fragrance which is included in the box! The best thing is it contains both female and male scents which makes it a perfect gift for anyone or just a nice treat to yourself.

The box came beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and it was definitely the nicest smelling post that I have ever had!

The Fragrance Shop Discovery box offers some of their designer, celebrity and newly released fragrances from the worlds finest houses, I couldn't wait to have a sniff of them!
Agent Provocateur - 30ml £35: The newest release from Agent Provocateur is their new luxurious and seductive scent. A perfume which I think will be perfect for the upcoming seasons, offering fruity scents with vanilla orchid and musks, thrown in with a lashing of chocolate, what could be better?!

Prada Candy Florale - 30ml £38: This is one of Pradas latest fragrances which contains a myriad of floral notes to create a scent as full of verve and vitality as Candy herself. The floral notes are fairly overpowering but which makes a great scent for summer.

Givenchy Dahlia Divin - 30ml £44.50: This luxurious gold fragrance is described as being a lush floral woody scent. The notes of the fragrance aren't ones that I would normally wear in a fragrance so its not my favourite fragrance of the box!
Ghost Eclipse - 30ml £24.50: This is another new fragrance on the market for Ghost. This is a perfect summer scent containing summer fruits, making it vibrant and fruity but with a dynamic and fresh edge with the likes of sensual musks. Fruity fragrances are my favourite summer scent and this is definitely my favourite scent of the box!

Paco Rabanne Lady Millions Eau My Gold - 50ml £44.50: This new fragrance is described as being flirtatious, eccentric and mischievous than ever. Another fragrance with fruity notes and a base of contrasting sweet notes. This fragrance is another winner for me as I just love the fruity notes to the scent!
Male Scents - I passed these onto my boyfriend and which he loved both of them,my favourite had to be the Lacoste L!ve though!

Givenchy Gentlemen Only Intense - 50ml £47: The name captures this scent very well as it is a very masculine orientated fragrance. This contains richer scents of wood combined with added spices, and an amber and leather trail. It sounds just like Christmas to me!

Lacoste L!ve - 40ml £28.50: Lacoste's newest fragrance on the market is L!ve which is a really fresh and fruity scent. The juice is fresh with added depth of liquorice, I don't think I've ever heard of liquorice being in a fragrance before but it smells delicious!

I just love the concept of this box, trying before I buy is really a necessity for me as I don't want to waste a lot of money on something that I may not like. As expected there were some fragrances that I didn't like and some that I absolutely loved which is the whole point in the box, and which I think is a fantastic concept for people like me! These handy vial samples are also just fantastic for holidays and for nights out as they are so teeny! For only £5 per quarter how could you say no?!

Would you be interested in something like this? Have you tried a discovery club box before? Do you like beauty boxes?

OOTD | Mint

Top - Primark
Shorts - Topshop
Necklace - River Island
Bag - Nica
Sandals - River Island
Headband - Topshop

Don't get me wrong I have absolutely loved the hot weather we have had this year but I am far too bored of summery clothes now. I'm never happy, I moan about wearing layers throughout the winter then I get bored at the first signs of heat, I'm definitely British! Anyway, I can't be the only one crying out for the stores to drop their autumn ranges now?! Because of this I've stopped buying anything remotely summery, so I'm re-wearing my most loved items and mixing and matching.

These pleated shorts have been one of the most worn items this summer and for good reason! Mint is such a lovely colour and I've also paired it with a similar coloured bag which I won from a giveaway a few months ago! The palm tree print top was only from Primark and around £6 I think, I really have found some good finds in that shop this year! Depending on the weather there might just be a few more summer looks to come, roll on layers, big cosy jumpers and chunky heels!

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and the weather isn't too bad wherever you are! What do you think of this outfit? Are you bored of summer clothes now too?

OOTD | Parisian chic

Top - Primark
Skirt - Hollister
Shoes - Juju jellies
Necklace* - Fapos

Last week Fapos sent over some really lovely accessories for me to style up from their wide selection that they have to offer. I have been wanting a collar necklace for as long as I can remember and this one is just stunning. It can be added to any top and instantly updates an old or maybe new outfit. Statement necklaces are such a thing for me and it definitely draws your eye into this outfit.

I picked this primark top up a few weeks ago now for only £6, I instantly fell in love with it because of the Parisian look to it, I would say they are also dupes for the H&M ones but a fraction of the price! Its quite long in length but I love it tucked in with the white lacy skirt giving it a really chic feel.

I'm also still testing out my camera settings and took some pictures enjoying my favourite drink in my favourite cafe on the Barbican. I swear I could live in cafes for eternity, there's just something so nice and relaxing about them!

What do you think of this outfit? Do you like collar necklaces? Do you like spending time in cafes too?

July Degustabox Review | Food box

July-degustabox
Fancy receiving a box of delicious surprise food goodies through your box each month? Well, today I am introducing you to the Degustabox* July edition, a monthly food box which brings you exciting new food products each month for only £12.99 a month! It's like getting a surprise food hamper through the post each month, it's also perfect to give as a gift, especially with Christmas only being 4 months away hehe! For the July box I was lucky enough to receive the contents of the alcohol and alcohol free box, although this is not something that they will be including every month so it won't be a possibility to choose in the future, but you can always pass those alcohol products onto someone else if you so wish!
degustabox
The Degustabox comes beautifully wrapped and is well presented in a big box, opening it up was ever so exciting as each month there are different surprise products which are all new to the market, I for one had never tried any of these products before!

Oh if you insist....

Each box contains 9-14 surprise products, for only £12.99 a box it works out a fraction of the supermarket prices.July-degustabox

So, lets skip to the best bit and find out what the box contained, it was a good one!
Zero drinks - RRP £1.29 each
These drinks came in three delicious flavours; peach and grapefruit burst, citrus crush and lime zest. I adore all three of these flavours and they are really refreshing on hot days, my favourite has to be the citrus crush though as I do love a nice lemon flavoured drink!

Hornsby's - RRP £1.25 each
I passed these ciders over to my dad which he was rather too happy about and loved the strong blueberry taste of the cider. Fruity ciders are such a popular summer drink and if you like cider anyway you need to give these American ones a go, they are a really reasonable price too!
Portlebay kracklecorn - RRP £0.79p per pack
I have never seen these in the shops before and i am so glad that have Degustabox have introduced me to this amazing brand! I was a bit dubious about the crispy bacon and maple syrup packet but the taste is absolutely amazing as you get the tastes of the salt and syrupy taste at the same time, taste buds blown! I am just yet to try the chilli and lime packet but i'm expecting it to be pretty hot! The different flavours are a fantastic addition as is the typical lightly salted packet, all really delicious and I will be repurchasing these when I spot them in a supermarket!
Maggi packets - RRP £5.44-£5.54
The Degustabox contained 6 maggi sachet packets which were; Piri Piri chicken, chicken & leek, Beef & Ale and oriental soy & garlic chicken. Maggi is a well known brand which I have used before so I really am looking forward to trying out these flavours. They are really easy to use and they can transform something plain into a really tasty meal which really requires no time or effort, which is perfect for someone like me!
The Berry Company - RRP £1.49
If you like Turkish delight then you will LOVE this drink! The hibiscus in the red tea is definitely what gives it the rose taste, its quite unusual as a drink but being a Turkish delight lover it really appeals to me!
DR. Oekter - RRP Eton Mess £1.99 | Violet Crystals £1.29
I was so happy when I found these cake decorating products in the box as I am an avid cake baker! It goes without saying that Dr.Oekter is a great well known brand and the Eton mess crystals have already found there way on to my birthday cupcake for my blog, I assure you its delicious! I cant wait to give the violet crystals a go next, they are so easy to use and you can sprinkle as much or little as you want onto your baking!
Frank - RRP £0.85
I am a lover of blueberries and chocolate so this was a big hit with me! I love how it's a snack bar made with 100% natural ingredients, no nasties here! It's nice to find a healthy snack bar for once, and Frank makes some delicious other flavoured bars too. Oh and its also free from gluten, nuts, dairy and refined sugar which is suitable for vegans too!
Green & Blacks - RRP £2.29
I am already such a fan of green and blacks and I know that dark chocolate isn't to everyone's taste but I love it, the higher the percentage the better! It's also got amazing health benefits which makes having this chocolate a good choice! This bar contains citrusy flavours, you really do just get a subtle taste of the lemon through the chocolate so it doesn't overpower the taste of the dark chocolate at all, this will quickly be finished off and repurchased again!
The degustabox also comes with a handy sheet detailing all of the products found in the box which is a brilliant insert beause it helps you to know more about the product, especially if you want to repurchase it again! The back also provides two really useful and simple receipes on the back from the products found in the box! I will definitely be having a go at these Eton mess cupcakes mmm...

So there you have it a taster of a Degustabox, there really was not one product that I didn't like. The best thing about this box is that you get to have a taster of each product before purchasing in the shop, it's also introduced myself to some amazing new brands that I will definitely be repurchasing! I would fully recommend this food box to anyone and will definitely be trying it again in the near future as well as purchasing it for presents! You can register for yourself with Degustabox here.

Degustabox have also kindly offered all of my readers a £3.00 discount when you first register, all you have to do is enter this code: 5WZCT

Have you tried a degustabox before? Does a food box interest you? Have you tried any of these products before?
