The Royal William Bakery | Cake heaven

Last week after one afternoon at work my family and I headed down to a place in Plymouth called The Royal William Bakery which hence the name is situated in a gorgeous location by the sea in Plymouth called the The Royal William Yard. I have frequently visited many of the other food places there but The bakery was one I had yet to visit. My mum and I had a pact that when I got a job she would take me. Its the quirkiest place I've ever visited and it's quite similar to the Jam Jar cafe which I mentioned in my Newquay post and I had to share this little gem with you! Cue cake slices the size of your head....

 Exactly as it says on the sign! I'm not sure if i'm so keen on the whole concept as even though it's laid out in black in white it's just awkward knowing what to do if you've not visited before. 

The old school benches laid out makes a real difference to your every day cafe and the whole place has a really rustic feel to it.

Once we found a table it was time to pick a cake!

Biggest victoria sponge cake I ever did lay eyes on... and only £3 for a HUGE slice!

I had seen pictures of the bakery's cakes before but I didn't realise the sheer size, I definitely said to myself before I went in that I was going to have a slice to myself too. So that didn't happen...

Sharing two slices between four of us was definitely the right idea, my stomach would have probably exploded if I had one whole slice! We picked angel cake and coffee and walnut cake mmm. We also got some tea to go with it, served in shabby chic Cornish ware.

The angel cake or as I like to call it battenburg was delicious! The frosting was so sweet and very filling!

It really was hard to pick out of the two but the coffee and walnut was definitely my favourite!

The cake was quickly polished off!

You could also purchase the Cornish ware too which I would definitely consider if I had my own house in the country! I  had a great first visit to the bakery, I think the cake slices are definitely far too big though but the prices are fairly reasonable. I also hoped there would have been more selection but I guess we did visit at the end of the day. I definitely have to return for some breakfast at the bakery which looks even more amazing. Overall It's a lovely location if you want a good slice of cake and cup of tea!

I am definitely having somewhat of a love affair with greys, blacks and beiges this year! I'm usually one who loves a bit of colour but these types of colours are always what I associate with autumn and they look so effortless when put together. This waterfall cardigan from CelebLook is a favourite of mine, I love the way the fabric falls and the contrasting colours and materials look great together. The PVC sleeves are slightly too hot for this unusually warm weather at the moment though. I'm still patiently waiting for the weather to behave and get colder!

Autumn clothing haul!

I cannot remember the last time I did a haul post..Being a student and then being unemployed doesn't provide the best opportunity to go on a mad shopping spree! If you read my post a couple of weeks ago you will know that I got my first grown up girl job and so this is the product of my first pay day!! It was better reason than any to properly treat myself... Cue lots of gorgeous autumn clothing staple pieces!

As a lot of my readers know I love nothing more than a Primark bargain, and a lot of these items are from their new autumn range. I am SO happy that I found this black fluffy skirt, I love all of the fluffy co-ords on Missguided but this skirt is a massive fraction of the price, they also have a lurid green one for sale if you dare...Their scarfs are on form this year too, there are so many tartan ones in different colours and this one is so big that it could easily act as a blanket cape too!

I've loved buying work wear recently, probably to do with the fact that I have a job now.. I adore the peter pan collar and this style which looks like a top and skirt. I would quite happily wear this out on the weekend too with some bright accessories.

Again, I bought this shirt with work in mind, you've gotta love polka dots! This hat has already featured in both of my LFW posts and it's a firm autumn/winter staple for me. It provides the perfect solution to my bad hair days,I get far too many!

I rarely buy from H&M but their new stock is effortless for autumn, I just love the ashen grey colours. The skirt is perfect for work but I will be wearing this casually regardless as I love the grid/dog tooth print for autumn! Super excited for the appearance of chunky knits too, I can't wait to layer this over some shirts and ripped jeans!

I have needed a grey top for ages, I have so many clothes but literally lack the basics. This t-shirt is literally amazing and was an impulse buy! I think the iconic eyes and lips are SO cute and as it's oversized I cant wait to layer it with skinny jeans and long cardigans/duster coats! The colour is right up my street too.

This picture just signifies christmas to me for some reason, ONLY 3 MONTHS TO GO by the way.. Christmas excites me far too much, anyone else? Anyway, the blanket cape has already made an appearance at LFW and I am willing for the weather to start behaving and become cold so I can wear it again! The brogues were another great staple buy, although my feet don't seem to agree, ouch! Last but not least I had to include this cute heart decoration from Primark, although it looks christmassey I'm going to use it now as its so gorgeous! If you haven't been in there yet their home range for Christmas is looking amazing, I cant wait to pick up a few more bits!

LFW day 3!

LFW day 3 was another amazing and jam packed day! Having to travel down for the weekend meant that I could only carry so much. I repeated wearing the staples that were the shirt and brogues as they are just really great all rounders to put with any outfit. I spotted this beautiful furry gilet amongst the racks of sale clothes in River Island in the summer, it was the only one there and it was just one of those moments that you know it's meant to be! Its such a fun and glam addition to this outfit and really injects some fun into the dull colours. I am loving these Mango jeans too from House of Fraser, the slim leg fit and ashen grey colour is the perfect colour for autumn in my eyes. House of Fraser have a really great selection of other skinny jeans for Autumn at the moment which are definitely worth checking out! I had so much fun planning my outfits for Fashion week, from what I saw it really is those that wear the most simplistic and clean cut outfits that look the best and are the most popular for street style snaps!

In the morning I had some outfit pictures in South Kensington as well as making the mandatory visit to Harrods! I then headed down to the ME hotel in the Strand for the Ada Zanditon show. As I was queuing to go in I spotted Arabella Golby and Becca Rose in front of me!! They were so lovely and they kept me company whilst we waited to go in. The hotel was stunning and the seating arrangement for the catwalk show was quite unusual, as you'll see it was like an evening dinner seating plan, the atmosphere with the fairy lights and the flower arrangements was gorgeous!

The evening wear was just stunning, the floating net skirts from the bodice are so delicate and a sure sign of what is to follow next summer. I loved The different textures and almost 3D shapes to some of the bodices, the skirt above is definitely a favourite look of mine.

Ada Zanditon came out at the end of the show with one of the models. I was almost shocked at how short the show actually was as I wished I had had a chance to get some more pictures and videos. Nevertheless I really enjoyed myself!

My second experience at LFW did not dissapoint, it definitely topped the one in February for me. I still wish that I could have attended more of the shows but there's only so much you can fit into one day huh?! Be sure to check out LFW day 2 if you haven't already! I say roll on February where I'm going to plan shows and outfits weeks in advance this time!
