My hair care

Hello everyone! Today i'm going to be telling you about what products i use to care for my hair. It has taken me years to grow my hair to this length and after a few nasty dye jobs a few years ago i have finally got my hair into very good condition and this is down to these 'wonder' products!

Moroccan Oil 100ml- £31.85

So most people know what Moroccan oil is by now,but if not check it out here . This product has completely saved my hair. I started using it in February and purchased the small bottle(25ml), but of course i loved it so much i had to buy the big bottle(100ml). This stuff is costly but it is 100% worth it. It has reduced the frizz on the ends of my hair and since using it i have not developed many more split ends,it gives my hair shine and the overall condition has improved meaning that my hair has grown even longer! I usually use about 2 blobs of the oil which i rub between my hands and i apply this to the mid/end lengths of my hair.

TRESemme platinum strength conditioner - £2.35

 I never really have a favourite shampoo or conditioner as i like mixing it up and trying different products. But i always return to TRESemme, you cant beat a good professional salon product and this conditioner can also be used as a mask, it leaves my hair tangle free and super soft! Not only that is is so cheap and i picked this one up in Wilkinsons for only £2.35!!Also, for those of you who like swimming or if you are on holiday my top tip is applying this or any other conditioner to the ends of the hair beforehand because it protects your hair from the chlorine and it doesn't leave it feeling like straw when it dries! When i'm doing serious swimming i pop my swim hat over the top and the heat inside acts like an intensive hair mask,brilliant!

 Loreal Paris Elnett satin heat protect styling spray170ml- £5.99

I rarely use heat on my hair these days and if i do it is only for special occasions and nights out,i guess i really should make more effort haha. Anyway,when i do use heat i always use a heat defence spray and this Loreal Paris one is fantastic! I've tried many others in the past but this is a winner for me,i love the smell and it doesn't feel like i have any product in my hair at all.It also locks-out frizz and tames my flyaways, it also states that it locks in a straight look for 3 days,but for me it usually lasts for about a day as my hair has a mind of its own! Not only this but it also protects your hair up to 230 degrees which is perfect if you're an avid GHD user!

Unite 7 seconds conditioner 59ml -£5.10

I have very thick hair but my hairs are fine meaning that they are always getting tangled,it's painful and heartbreaking seeing clumps of your hair in your hairbrush! I recently heard about Unite 7 seconds leave in conditioner and i had to try it,i purchased the travel size first. It is amazing! It really does what it says on the bottle that it detangles hair in 7 seconds, not only this it also locks in colour,its a UV protector,thermal protector and a weightless conditioner. The smell of it is also really nice and i always use this before i brush my hair and it has really reduced the breakages in my hair and it has made it a lot more manageable.

Leopard print Tangle Teezer - £8.99

Lastly is the trusty tangle teezer. I don't know how i ever lived without this! Pretty self explanatory but it can be used on dry and wet hair,it really helps to manage my tangles and the added benefit of using it on wet hair is perfect for me because i swim a lot.

I would recommend all of these products if you have or are seeking long hair! As well as this i also get my hair trimmed every 6-10 months to keep the split ends at bay!I hope you enjoyed my first hair themed post! Have you tried any of these products or have and hair product recommendations?

Hair scrunchies!

Can you believe that the hair scrunchies we wore to school in the 90's are now back in fashion?! Amazing. I was always lucky when i was younger as my mum used to make my sister and i hair scrunchies that no one else ever had,there was certainly hair scrunchie envy in the playground.

I was in River island the other day and spotted such a cute tartan scrunchie but i really didn't want to part with £4 pounds for what is essentially a small piece of fabric,luckily enough i had some spare tartan material at home and i followed a pattern that i found on the internet from here. If you have the correct equipment and materials its really easy to do!

DIY | Transforming a plain black dress.

If you've read my post on my upcycled denim shorts you'll know that i love updating an old outfit or transforming a new one. I had a black sundress from Topshop which has been sitting in my wardrobe for ages,it wasn't that i didn't like it,it just looked really plain. While i was on holiday and the cruise stopped of in Palma de Mallorca for the day we went in El Corte Ingles,for those of you who haven't heard of it before its a massive department store that is largely populated across Spain, its the answer to our John Lewis and Selfridges. In the haberdashery section i found some gorgeous ribbons,which i have never seen anything like before in the UK to buy. I picked this ribbon because of the gorgeous colours running through the flowers,it also reminded me of all of the floral crowns that are in the shops at the moment. For a metre of the ribbon it only set me back 6 euros,so i was very pleased with this purchase!

Dress - Topshop// Sandals - Topshop// Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters

This was really simple to do! I simply measured how much of the ribbon i needed for each pocket,pinned it onto the fabric and then sewed it by hand with black thread so it wouldn't be seen to the eye. I haven't added much to the dress yet its given it a nice pop of colour to make the outfit look more eye catching!

How to do| Newsprint nails tutorial!

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend, despite the weather being rainy where I live i'm making the most of it! Here is a simple nail art tutorial on how to do newsprint nails, it isn't time consuming and the result is a simple yet different design!

Finished result

What you'll need:

-Your nails!

-newspaper

-Light coloured nail polish(such as nude,light pink,white)

-Top coat

-Vodka(paint stripper!)

Tip - The cheaper the vodka the better

Top coat - Collection 2000// Barry M - Lychee

1. Firstly i chose a light coloured nail polish for the base coat of my nails, this is so the news print will show up more clearly against a light nail.I find that white works best but this time i used Barry M Lychee (nude).

2. Then take a newspaper and tear into strips roughly a bit bigger than your nail,do this 10 times,one for each nail.

3. All you need is a tiny bit of vodka or paint stripper for the next step. I poured a little bit into the lid for this,i then dipped one nail at a time into the vodka and then pressed one of the strips onto the nail for about 10 seconds,peel it back and you have newsprint nails!

4.Continue this for all nails and then add a top coat on top to seal the print onto the nails. It really is an easy way to have some cute nails!
